Bicycles

Bicycles can be stored in bicycle racks outside the house or in a special bicycle room if there is one in the house you live in.

Charging of electric bicycles, electric scooters, etc

Fires caused by battery-powered products such as electric scooters, e-bikes etc. that are powered by lithium-ion batteries have increased as their use has become more frequent. Lithium-ion battery is the same type of battery that is used in phones and computers but of a significantly larger size, and if these start to burn, a toxic gas is also spread.

To minimize the risk when charging, the following is recommended:

  • Charge under supervision and not while sleeping.
  • Charge on a hard surface and keep flammable objects away from the charging area.
  • Have a working smoke alarm.
  • Make sure not to load in, or block, the escape route (hallway, stairwell, etc.).
  • Always use original chargers and CE-marked products. Unplug when charging is complete.

Mopeds etc

Mopeds are not allowed in the cycle rooms - this applies to both petrol and electric mopeds. This is due to an increased risk of fire and risk of leakage/dangerous vapors in these spaces. This also applies to mopeds with an empty tank or discharged battery.

The stairwell

Bicycles, mopeds and prams must not be left in the stairwells where they block escape routes and can make it difficult for emergency medical transport.
